Everton beat Wolves in a Carlo Ancelotti masterclass. Firstly, we have to say Wolves were not at full strength.
But Everton had to field a side in a fluid 3-5-2 formation which positioned Sigurdsson and James upfront.
In the reactions to this game I have to say I am getting a little tired of criticism toward certain players.
Jordan Pickford made a tremendous one handed save that kept us in this game and probably in a similar way to the Spurs game earned us the 3 points. But Jordan has his critics as some fans think he has a mistake in him… stop it, we won and Jordan is getting better with the help of excellent management by Ancelotti. Support our goalkeeper!
Tom Davies, is currently being asked to do a job by the Manager that is to develop his game to stand in for our first line midfielders. Tom has given his best in the situation and the manager has faith in him to fill the gap until Allan and Gbamin are back. I see growth in Tom’s game. Support Tom and allow him to grow as a squad player.
Mason Holgate, again some chose to criticise Mason for his performance against Wolves. The manager has asked Mason to play a number of roles since coming back from injury. The chopping and changing of role and formation makes it difficult for some players to achieve consistency in their passing and decision making. Support Mason in this time of flux and pragmatism by our manager.
Ancelotti knows how to get the best out of the players he has in his squad. This was Everton’s sixth away win and are in a position to enter the second half of season to compete for the European places. Support our manager
