This strange season progresses. As a fan I am really pleased with how Everton are positioned at this stage.
We play Wolves tonight in a throw of the dice that can see us either climb the ladder and be within a couple of points of the leaders, or slide down to the doldrums of mid table.
Wolves were 3-0 victors in last season’s corresponding fixture.
The Toffees are in danger of losing successive league matches against Wolves for the first time since 1979.
Everton have not won at Molineux since a 3-0 victory in April 2011.
Things to consider going into tonight’s game
Victory tonight would see Everton become the seventh club to win 400 Premier League matches.
Everton have won five of their eight away leagues fixtures this term, as many as their final total in both 2019-20 and 2018-19. Under Marco Silva it seemed we could not win away from home. So much has changed.
Everton have let in just four goals in their last seven Premier League fixtures. It will be interesting to see how Carlo sets up the back line tonight especially with Seamus Coleman and Lucas Digne getting back match fitness. Maybe too early for 90 minutes from Digne.
Richarlison has scored four Premier League goals in four appearances against Wolves. Also Andre Gomes has the memory of scoring a screamer against Wolves. Come on Andre lad get back to your best.
About time James lit up an away game as well. He has some very important pre-assists but is yet to score or provide an assist in a Premier League away match.
Come on Blues let’s get those three points tonight.
